SOMFY, the world leader in automated opening and closing systems for homes and commercial buildings, was founded in France (Cluses, Haute-Savoie) in 1969.
SOMFY develops and distributes motors and automatic controls for roller shutters, awnings, blinds, solar screens, gates and garage doors.
With a work force of 3,300 people, Somfy produces more than 5 million motors a year, 70% of which are exported around the world. Somfy is currently present in 40 countries via a network of 45 subsidiaries, and 19 offices in all five continents. Somfy uses this local presence to anticipate consumer needs and guide innovation programs. Seven factories, located in Europe and USA, constitute an industrial assembly machine geared towards mass production.
